Brian Cantwell has been leading marketing innovation and digital transformation efforts in healthcare for more than 15 years, with a focus on building differentiated in-house capabilities that fuel brand performance. As the Vice President of Digital Strategy & Product Operations for Bayer Pharmaceuticals, Brian leads an award-winning team across the disciplines of digital strategy, media activation, content & campaign services, and marketing operations. At Bayer, Brian has spearheaded multiple in-housing efforts, including leading the industry as the first pharmaceutical organization to bring all digital media planning and activation in-house, resulting in dramatic improvements to marketing ROI, audience engagement, and revenue growth – all while saving millions in agency fees and content creation costs.
Prior to Bayer, Brian held senior roles at Biogen, where he built and ran a Multichannel Excellence team, and Accenture, where he led digital transformation initiatives for large pharmaceutical clients. Brian holds an MBA from MIT Sloan with a focus on Entrepreneurship & Innovation, and a BA from Harvard University in History. He resides in the Boston area with his family and is an avid Boston sports fan.
